Quarta edizione del progetto di arte queer di artisti LGBT+ internazionali di paesi dove le persone LGBT+ sono discriminate o peggio criminalizzate in quanto tali. Questa mostra è un atto di presenza, una soglia tra l’intimo e il politico, tra lo spirituale e il viscerale. Le opere esposte non si offrono soltanto come espressioni estetiche, ma come testimonianze ardenti di un’esistenza che resiste, che cerca un senso e una voce anche laddove la voce è negata. Gli artisti coinvolti non sono soltanto creatori visivi: sono attivisti LGBT+, spesso perseguitati, discriminati o criminalizzati nei loro paesi di origine.

In ogni immagine, il linguaggio visivo si intreccia con un’urgenza spirituale che trascende la mera rappresentazione. C’è una sacralità che attraversa i corpi, i gesti, gli spazi, come se la materia stessa dell’opera fosse abitata da una tensione verso l’oltre — un oltre che non è fuga, ma affermazione. In contesti in cui la propria identità è motivo di esclusione o punizione, la spiritualità diventa rifugio, ma anche grido; diventa traccia viva di una dignità che resiste, che si rifiuta di scomparire.

Queste immagini parlano di ferite, ma anche di guarigione. Di solitudini, ma anche di comunione. L’invisibile prende forma attraverso l’estetica, ma è alimentato da esperienze reali, da vite che scelgono di esporsi, di trasformare il dolore in linguaggio e il rischio in gesto creativo.

In uno spazio espositivo che si fa anche spazio politico e spirituale, la mostra invita a una contemplazione che è, al tempo stesso, ascolto e responsabilità. Ogni opera è un varco: ci chiede di vedere non solo ciò che è visibile, ma ciò che viene negato. E di riconoscere in quella negazione la possibilità di un nuovo inizio: incarnato, queer, resistente.

Nicola Bertoglio, artista “iphoneografo”, attivista e poeta, nato 1974 a Cremona, ha ideato e curato la mostra nei locali della Chiesa Cristiana Protestante in Milano che festeggia la sua presenza a Milano da 175 anni.

Fourth edition of the Queer Art Project by International LGBT+ Artists from Countries Where LGBT+ People Face Discrimination or Criminalization

This exhibition is an act of presence, a threshold between the intimate and the political, the spiritual and the visceral. The works on display are not offered solely as aesthetic expressions, but as fervent testimonies of an existence that resists—seeking meaning and a voice even where that voice is denied. The participating artists are not just visual creators; they are LGBT+ activists, often persecuted, discriminated against, or criminalized in their countries of origin.

In every image, visual language intertwines with a spiritual urgency that transcends mere representation. A sense of sacredness runs through bodies, gestures, and spaces, as if the very substance of the work is charged with a yearning for something beyond—a beyond that is not an escape, but an affirmation. In contexts where one’s identity is a cause for exclusion or punishment, spirituality becomes both refuge and outcry; it becomes a living trace of dignity that endures, refusing to disappear.

These images speak of wounds, but also of healing. Of solitude, but also of communion. The invisible takes form through aesthetics, yet is fueled by real experiences—by lives that choose to be seen, to transform pain into language, and risk into creative gesture.

In an exhibition space that also becomes a political and spiritual space, the show invites contemplation that is, at the same time, listening and responsibility. Each work is a passage: it asks us to see not only what is visible, but also what is denied. And to recognize in that denial the possibility of a new beginning: embodied, queer, resistant.

Nicola Bertoglio, an “iPhoneographer,” activist, and poet born in 1974 in Cremona, conceived and curated the exhibition, hosted in the premises of the Chiesa Cristiana Protestante (Protestant Christian Church) in Milan, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary in the city.
