“Mail art” initiative in support of an Iranian refugee detained in Italy

Today, 07/30/2024 is the birthday of Maysoon Majidi, a young Kurdish-Iranian activist who had the courage to escape from the repressive regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She currently finds herself unjustly detained in Italy, accused of being a smuggler on the basis of poorly translated testimonies. Witnesses, contacted by Maysoon's family, denied ever having identified her as such.

Maysoon is going through a difficult time: she feels alone in a foreign country, she doesn't understand the language and she has lost 15 kilos. Although she was hoping for a transfer to house arrest, she is still behind bars. She needs all of us, now more than ever, let's not stand by and let her know that she is not alone. We flood his cell with artist postcards so as to fill his captivity with beauty because every gesture can make a difference. This initiative will come to an end when Maysoon is released.

Update 22/10/24: The Court of Crotone has released Maysoon Majdi, the twenty-eight-year-old Iranian Kurd who was arrested on December 31, after a migrant landing, on charges of being a trafficker.
