Saylan is a visual artist from Afghanistan. Expressed in painting, installation and moving image, his practice examines themes of identity, displacement, gender and sexuality. More specifically, His work explores complex histories in the Greater Middle East region, with an emphasis on personal experiences as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community. Saylan graduated from a Master of Fine Arts at the University of London in 2019 and has exhibited in variety of art spaces.
