Orlando Myxx is a London based Italian artist. After graduating in Philosophy,  they worked for many years in an Italian bank until they quit to pursue a new career in the visual arts.

First Myxx took a Master course in Contemporary Visual Arts at Fondazione  Modena Arti Visive - IT (2014–2016) and then moved to London where they graduated MA Photography (2017-2019) at Central Saint Martins – University of the Arts London.

Orlando Myxx is a multidisciplinary artist working with photography, video and performance, and frequently adopting the practice of performing for the camera.

As a transgender person their research mainly focuses on the exploration of transness as a mental, physical and cultural experience from an intimate and personal perspective. Myxx is interested in how gender non conforming people are not only questioning the gender norms imposed on them, but are actually opening up spaces for new gender subjectivities and for a cultural change.

Their artworks comprises of a series of photographs, videos and live performances showcased in several art festivals and galleries. To mention a few, the artist's works have been part of  the collective exhibitions SHOUT Festival (Birmingham, 2021), Queer Art(ist) Now (London, 2020), Translucent (London, 2019), the Nunnery Gallery (London, 2018), Transitional States (London-UK, Lincoln-UK, Barcelona–SP, and Bologna-IT, 2018) and of SI-Fest OFF (Savignano sul Rubicone, 2016).

Orlando Myxx è un artista italiano che vive e lavora a Londra dal 2016.

Dopo una laurea in Filosofia e un impiego in banca, Myxx decide di cambiare radicalmente strada e perseguire una carriera nelle arti visive.

Prima segue il Master sull'Immagine Contemporanea della Fondazione Modena Arti Visive (2014-2017) e poi si trasfersce a Londra dove frequenta il MA Photography al Central Saint Martins College – Università delle Arti di Londra (2017-2019).

Orlando Myxx è un artista multidiscipliare. Nei sui lavori impiega la fotografia, il video e la performance.

In quanto transgender la sua ricerca esplora l'esperienza trans nelle sue implicazioni mentali, fisiche  e culturali, adottando un approccio intimo e personale. Nel suo lavoro Myxx è interessato a investigare come le identità transgender e gender-non-conforming non solo interrogano le norme di genere imposte dalla società, ma anche come di fatto stiano attivamente cambiando la nozione di genere aprendo le porte a nuove soggettività e ad un più ampio cambiamento culturale.

Myxx ha realizzato lavori fotografici, video e alcune live performance, che sono stati parte di diverse mostre collettive. Fra queste SHOUT Festival (Birmingham, 2021), Queer Art(ist) Now (Londra, 2020), Translucent (Londra, 2019), Nunnery Gallery (Londra, 2018), Transitional States 2018 (London-UK, Lincoln-UK, Barcelona–SP, and Bologna-IT) e il SI-Fest OFF (Savignano sul Rubicone, 2016).
