“I started the series on facebook about 12 years ago. I like the idea of keeping a personal yet public kind of diary reflecting how i feel, how i dress, how I want to be seen by the world outside. After a while of shooting pics randomly in the elevator, I realised , that s it s really interesting to do it every single day and to invole themes and things of matter in in the series, may them personal drama, genderbending fashion, sex positive behaviour or political themes. Actually more or less fluendly melts into each other anyways in my life.
Being a guy of 59 years I learned very early that discrimination is a very hurtful and damaging thing, that has to be fought against. So i started after my coming out to get more involved in the queer activism scene.therefore i also used my elevator series to draw more visual attention to what i feel is important.
When the slaughter in Orlando in 2016 killed 49 people in a queer club, i dedicated for the first a whole series to the victims of the brutal attack, doing a series of 49 pictures only naked humans draped in rainbowflags. up to this date, this is maybe my strongest political work in the elevator series. I used my images also for promoting free love, hedonism, I fought Brexit and the hypocrisy of organised religion.
From febr 24 I use my elevator series to make sure Ukraine is not forgotten and to draw attention to the horrible war Russia is leading against the free world”.
“Ho iniziato la serie su Facebook circa 12 anni fa. Mi piace l'idea di tenere un diario personale, pubblico quello che riflette come mi sento, come mi vesto, come voglio essere visto dal mondo esterno. Dopo un po' di riprese casuali in ascensore, mi sono reso conto che è davvero interessante farlo ogni singolo giorno e coinvolgere temi e cose importanti in questa serie, che possano essere il dramma personale, la moda genderbending, il comportamento sessuale positivo o temi politici. In realtà più o meno fluidamente si fondono l'uno nell'altro nella mia vita.
Essendo un ragazzo di 59 anni ho imparato molto presto che la discriminazione è una cosa molto dolorosa e dannosa, che deve essere combattuta. Quindi ho iniziato dopo il mio coming out a essere più coinvolto nella scena dell'attivismo queer. Ho quindi usato la mia serie in ascensore per attirare l’attenzione su ciò che ritengo importante.
Quando il massacro di Orlando nel 2016 ha ucciso 49 persone in un queer club, ho dedicato per la prima volta un'intera serie alle vittime del brutale attacco, realizzando una serie di 49 foto di soli umani nudi drappeggiati con bandiere arcobaleno. Questo è forse il mio lavoro politico più forte nella serie in ascensore. Ho usato le mie immagini anche per promuovere l'amore libero, l'edonismo, ho combattuto la Brexit e l’ipocrisia della religione organizzata.
Dal 24 febbraio uso la mia serie in ascensore per assicurarmi che l'Ucraina non venga dimenticata e per attirare l'attenzione sull'orribile guerra che la Russia sta conducendo contro il mondo libero”.
